The Electoral Commission (EC) has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring an error-free electoral process, emphasizing its commitment to transparency and upholding public trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This assurance is part of the EC’s efforts to maintain democratic values as Ghana heads toward the 2024 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency, the EC has recruited over 200 professionals with backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, and other quantitative fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These specialists are expected to bring their expertise to the election process, supporting data accuracy and enhancing the credibility of results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Eric Bossman Asare, the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, discussed these efforts in a media interview on Tuesday, November 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the Commission\u2019s preparations are focused on both accuracy and transparency, which he described as essential for maintaining the public\u2019s confidence in the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Dr Asare, the newly recruited experts will play a crucial role in preventing any data discrepancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their analytical skills will be applied to precise data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis\u2014critical processes that, if mishandled, could impact the integrity of the electoral results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative, Dr Asare noted, reflects the EC’s proactive approach to minimize errors and uphold democratic standards, reassuring the public of the Commission\u2019s commitment to a credible election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Commission has already recruited over 280,000 individuals who are going to work on this election. We have also recruited people who are going to help with the collation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese are people who have a background in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics and will be assisting with quantitative methods. So they are going to assist the returning officers at the constituency level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
