Ghana Police Service stationed at Zini Community in the Sissala West District in the Upper West Region with days of intensive patrol and combing the robbery scene and nearby bushes finally Recovered some of the stolen Items on the fourth day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official reports received, the police officers stationed at Zini Mr Raymond Duku and Inspr Raymond K Owusu mounted intensive checks and patrol in the vicinity and met a troop of community hunters during the search in the bush, their search resulted in the retrieval of a motor bike with registration number M-25-UW-162 and a black keypad mobile phone believed to be some of the stolen Items. <\/p>\n\n\n

An eyewitness (name withheld) revealed that the police started a foot search and patrols around 6:30am on Monday 2nd March, 2026 and moved to a distance of about 280 meters away from the crime scene and returned at 11:45am with the red Hajoa express Motor bike and a black keypad mobile phone. <\/p>\n\n\n

The search team according to him, was supported by a combined community hunters from Zini who were met during the search. <\/p>\n\n\n

SISSALA WEST DISTRICT: HIGHWAY ROBBERY SYNDICATE<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A group of armed unidentified gunmen numbering about five individuals made away from travellers their belongings between Gbal and Nyantie communities yesterday 27th February, 2026, Friday evening between the hours of 5pm to 7pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the victim who works with Tumu Municipal assembly the MCE\u2019s driver, Mr Salifu Benard whose Identity cards were robbed away including, his Ghana card, Staff ID card, ATM card and drivers license. Another victim name withheld from Gwollu was forced to share his Momo pin with an undisclosed amount of money transferred at gunpoint before snatching the phone and his new Hadjou motor bike away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the uninterrupted dubious operation mounted by the alleged armed men, a total of four (4) motor bikes were snatched and other valuable belongings including mobile phones and money made away by these robbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residence of the two communities, travellers alike and the entire Sissala West district are still in State of shocked, fear and unable to go about their daily routine due to the current insecurity along the Hamile- Gwollu- Tumu- Navrongo highway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently after the robbery, some of the victims reported to the Sissala West District police command and was assured of further investigations, the police appealed to the public to stay calm and allow investigations to continue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events unfolded the next day after the incident and publication, 28th February 2026 Saturday, with fortune on his side the Tumu Municipal assembly MCE\u2019s driver, Mr Salifu Benard subsequently recovered his particulars with the aid of another driver who passed by the robbery scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the brave police officer who took charge of the situation narrated that, “We started the foot patrols around 6:30am and returned 11:45am. This morning, which was almost 280 metres away from the crime scene”, said Mr Raymond Duku. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zini Police sub-station is currently in possession of the recovered items for further identification and possible collection. The police command has since pledged to pursue the matter to the end as further investigations are ongoing to apprehend the criminals involved and bring them to book. <\/p>\n\n\n
