Residents of Adamukrom, a suburb of Millennium City in the Gomoa East District, were left shaken after armed men, reportedly in military uniform, stormed the area and demolished a mosque under construction in the early hours of Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when about 50 uniformed men arrived at the site with an excavator and began pulling down the structure without prior notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple living on the land alleged that they were held at gunpoint during the operation, leaving them traumatised.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe whole experience was terrifying. We felt completely helpless,\u201d one of the victims recounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents claim the team, reportedly led by an individual identified only as \u201cOlanyo,\u201d ordered the immediate demolition of the mosque, locally referred to as \u201cmasalachi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident has sparked fear and panic within the community, with some residents alleging that it is not the first time they have faced such intimidation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community members are now calling on authorities, including the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of the Interior, to investigate the matter and ensure accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are also demanding clarity on the circumstances that led to the demolition, as well as protection from further incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
