The promising 23_year old multiple award wining and reigning artist in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region triumphed as the best reggae/dancehall artist at the recent Showbiz and influencers awards at the Ghana national theater on the 15th April, 2023.

Abubakar Mahama Buku, now known by many as Glee Jeezy (Energy) for his stylish musical genre started rapping from JHS but developed the passion for music as a career after winning his first award as promising artist of the year 2018 (sissala entertainment awards, SEA) in Tumu.

Glee Jeezy further won several awards: Overall artist of the year 2019 (SEA), reggae/dancehall song of the year 2020 (Prumas, Wa), citation of honor from plan international Ghana 2020, most popular song of the year 2021 at Tamale (Northern Entertainment Awards), songwriter of the year 2021 Accra Ghana Showbiz awards, afrobeats song of the year 2021 at Accra (listeners choice awards Africa) and the recent best reggae/dancehall artist of the year 2023 at Accra Ghana Showbiz and Influencers Awards.

Glee Jeezy has several hits songs like go low, produced by Tympo beats, problems, Tobomu, Sika, steady, Dunia , free me and many more. Glee Jeezy has has the best fan base which he calls”Team Energy”, one is tempted to say, his larger fan base might be the secret to his many awards achieved.

Glee Jeezy has many collaboration with other international artists like Snaidah from Kenya , Nzee from Nigeria Brema from Dr_Congo and more. Abubakar Mahama Buku made his ever first appearance on a National TV station in Accra Ghana in the year 2020.

Abubakar Mahama Buku [Glee Jeezy] started his alimentary education from Gwollu Wuljua Basic school in the Sissala West District and completed JHS in 2015, he gained admission to Hilla Limann Senior High School located in his home town Gwollu and completed in the year 2018, he currently graduated from Dr Hilla Limann Technical University [Wa Polytechnic previously] 2023.
