Help Save the Sinking Life of A Nurse

I have saved lives and wish to be saved, too, says a dying and breastfeeding nurse from Tumu.

Ashida Abass Nyasu is a 29-year-old nurse who worked at the Tumu Municipal Hospital in the Sisaala East Municipal of the Upper West Region of Ghana.

The young Ashida is married with two kids and is currently breastfeeding a three-month-old baby girl.

Ashida was diagnosed with kidney failure at the Upper West Regional Hospital on the 14th of January 2025 and has since turned her life upside-down.

She is currently battling for her at the Kolebu Hospital in Accra the National capital of Ghana.

This mother of children has worked her life out at the Tumu Municipal Hospital until this unfortunate turn of events.

From this unfortunate development, it has clinically been recommended that our ailing sister be sent to India for a kidney Transplant, which comes at a cost.

An estimated cost of USD 18,500 is needed for the Transplant without money for any contingencies and cost of transportation to and from India and also feeding.

Against this background, our ailing nursing mother and nurse and her family are making a passionate appeal for financial support to enable them to transport her to India for a kidney Transplant.

A screenshot of the estimate has been added to this information for your perusal.

The family of Ashida would be greatly appreciative if you support them.

The general manager for Radford FM Tumu municipal, Mr Mohammed Ballu also took a step after the news of the ailing nurse Ashida was brought to notice, below is his intervention.

I just held a meeting with some members of the family a while a go where i suggested the following to them:

  1. Identify 150 persons from her hometown(Pulima),uncles(Bujan) husbands hometown(Tasor)and grand parents(Bujan) and get each person to commit One thousand Ghana cedis. It will half the cost.

2. Appeal to the Ghana registered Nurses Association to guarantee the half, which she can work to pay when she is treated.

3. Appeal to radio listners and other philanthropist like Ibrahim Mahama etc
