Promises fulfilled By 2023 National Best JHS Teacher, Transforms School Experience
A 2023 National Best Teacher winner, JHS category Alhaji Nankpa Jibiliru who have just been posted as an English language teacher at Tumu Girls Model International in the Upper West Region, took significant steps to enhance the teaching and learning environment for pupils especially the girl child in the municipality.
He has made a remarkable impact in the community by honouring three significant promises he made earlier in addressing some challenges facing the school: One of the major setbacks facing the Tumu Girls Model school is inadequate reading materials, particularly for the form 3 class. This made English teaching and learning comprehension a big bottleneck for both teachers and pupils.

In addressing this gap, Alhaji Nankpa Jibirilu took the initiative to procure some approved English textbooks to facilitate better learning experiences.
These included fifteen (15) pieces and an additional twenty (20) to be added later. According to the benevolent-award-winning teacher, he revealed to the media Domajuosu News each textbook costed him GH₵100.00, amounting to GH₵3,500.00 for the 35 copies.

Mr Alhaji Nankpa Jibirilu also donated one thousand Ghana cedis (GH₵1,000.00) to fix the school’s broken-down borehole to ensure the availability of portable water in the school. The school only source of water has not been functional for some time now, presenting a challenge for students and staff due to the school’s remote location. Understanding this urgency, Mr. Alhaji Nankpa Jibiliru donated cheque of GH₵1,000.00 to repair the borehole.

This gesture will ensure the restoration of portable water supply with proper sanitation and hygiene in the school. Also, the philanthropic teacher had encouraged his students to participate in a local quiz competition, despite the school relatively being new school and had no previous participation experience. The former best teacher awardee had promised a sum of GH₵2,500.00 to the team if they secured first place, consequently the pupils were inspired to train vigorously.

Their hard work paid off, and they successfully won the competition, making him fulfil his promise to them.
Mr. Alhaji Nankpa Jibirilu took to his Facebook handle to express a deep commitment to Tumu Girls Model School and pledged to continue making a positive impact.
The joyous teacher stated that “I only wish for Allah to give me more to enable me to do more,” reflecting a heartfelt dedication on both the pupils and the community.
